Northshore Technical Community College preps big events

Northshore Technical Community College, based in Lacombe, is preparing for two of its biggest events of the year.

The school’s second annual Advanced Technology Summit, designed to inspire and empower a new generation of tech professionals, will take place Feb. 29 in the Castine Center near Mandeville.

Hundreds of participants are expected, including NTCC students, alumni, high school students interested in advanced technical careers and potential employers who offer those types of jobs and careers.

There will be presentations on the trends in advanced tech and tips for finding jobs, as well as opportunities to network with industry leaders and potential employee/employers. There will also be a showcase of student projects that demonstrates advanced tech, innovation and collaborative learning.

The summit will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 63350 Pelican Drive on the Pelican Park campus where the Castine Center is located.

In other school news, NTCC will host its Chancellor’s Scholarship Benefit honoring students and benefactors from the Lacombe and Sullivan (Bogalusa) campuses from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. March 28 at Benedict’s near Mandeville.

On April 3, there will be another breakfast celebration at The Oaks in Ponchatoula to honors NTCC students and their benefactors from the Hammond, Florida Parishes (Greenburg) and Livingston (Walker) campuses.

Each year, the college celebrates its exceptional students and the donors who support their achievements at these twin breakfasts. These individuals have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities, according to NTCC.

At both events, guests will have the chance to connect with fellow supporters, community leaders and NTCC faculty. The college promises inspiring conversations, the sharing of stories and forging of meaningful connections with like-minded individuals who share a passion for education and empowering the next generation.
